We love experimenting, but we still want to highlight the main squeezes in our life.

The weekly ingredient spotlight belongs to our main star in Beef Noodle Soup, Star Anise. What is this lovely ingredient and why do chefs use it? This star shaped spice is native to China and Vietnam and has a licorice flavor that adds depth to soups, meats and tomatoes. Along with the complexity it brings to each dish, Star Anise benefits the digestive system and contains elements that promote healthy immune systems. 

We simmer this star in our beef stock along with other secret spices so look for this nuanced flavor in our bowl of Beef Noodle Soup!
